In Queensland, a safety certificate is required when you: - Sell a registered vehicle - Transfer ownership to a new owner - Register an unregistered vehicle A current safety certificate must be displayed when selling a registered vehicle, and it’s only valid for a limited time depending on the vehicle type and usage. It confirms your vehicle meets the minimum safety standards at the time of inspection, giving buyers and sellers confidence and helping keep everyone safe on the road. It’s a straightforward, check required by Queensland Transport to ensure the vehicle is safe to be driven and legally transferred.
Our inspection focuses on the key safety components required under Queensland regulations, including: - Brakes and steering - Tyres, wheels, and suspension - Lights, indicators, and electrical systems - Seats and seatbelts - Body, structure, and windscreen condition - Engine and driveline components We inspect only what Queensland Transport requires, no unnecessary add-ons, just a clear and compliant safety check. A safety certificate inspection is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection on the quality, or life expectancy of a vehicle.
